“The eyes of all our countrymen are upon us, and we shall have their blessings and praises, if happily we are the instruments of saving them from the tyranny meditated against them.” George Washington
“Much can be done by law towards putting women on a footing of complete and entire equal rights with man — including the right to vote, the right to hold and use property, and the right to enter any profession she desires on the same terms as the man.”…”Women should have free access to every field of labor which they care to enter…” Theodore Roosevelt
“Certain techniques of propaganda, created and developed in dictator countries, have been imported into this campaign. It is the very simple technique of repeating and repeating and repeating falsehoods, with the idea that by constant repetition and reiteration, with no contradiction, the misstatements will finally come to be believed.” Franklin Delano Roosevelt
“We cannot safely confine government programs to our own domestic progress and our own military power. We could be the wealthiest and the most mighty nation and still lose the battle of the world if we do not help our world neighbors protect their freedom and advance their social and economic progress. It is not the goal of the American people that the United States should be the richest nation in the graveyard of history.” Dwight David Eisenhower
“A strong nation, like a strong person, can afford to be gentle, firm, thoughtful, and restrained. It can afford to extend a helping hand to others. It is a weak nation, like a weak person, that must behave with bluster and boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity.” Jimmy Carter
“But let me tell you, this gender thing is history. You’re looking at a guy who sat down with Margaret Thatcher across the table and talked about serious issues.” George H.W. Bush
“It is for us, the living, rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they have, thus far, so nobly carried on. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain; that this nation shall have a new birth of freedom; and that this government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” Abraham Lincoln
RIGHT ON, BRO!
“the richest nation in the graveyard of history,” Wow, I’d never heard that one.
Also never heard that George H.W. Bush quote. Wow.
If only they’d play this stuff on the “all-day chatter” “pick a side” media.
Well done, Eric.
“It is a weak nation, like a weak person, that must behave with bluster and boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity.” Jimmy Carter
The two mentally teen-aged males fixated on insults and inanities are indeed showing signs of their insecurity. Tis no surprise they’ve devolved into schoolyard taunts; they’ve little other to offer.
I assure you this “Gender thing”, is most definitely NOT history! The master of schoolyard taunts has won re-election to the Presidency in part because of misogyny and the ‘Gender thing’ bias against women by other women who should know better. For evidence, I point to the men who coined the disgraceful phrase “your bodies, our choice” and the millions of women who either failed to vote or actually voted for a serial bankruptcy, proudly sexist & convicted rapist, who is willfully ignorant of our laws, history & the U.S. constitution, and felon over a well-educated, successful prosecutor, U. S. Senator and Vice-president because of her gender.
